According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2009, coverage of mothers who give exclusive breastfeeding is still not satisfactory for 56%. South Kalimantan in 2011 is achieving an exclusive breastfeeding on the age of 0-6 months only 35.9%. The Cause of use low of (ASI) breast milk in Indonesia is a socio-cultural factor, lack of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women, families, communities on the importance of ASI. The aim of this research was to determine the correlation of postpartum mothers’ knowledge and attitudes about breast treatment with motivation breastfeeding in RSUD Datu Sanggul Rantau in 2012. The method used analytical survey. Population and the sample is all that inpatient postpartum mothers’ period march – April 2012 by 90 respondents. The results obtained that was a significant correlation between Post partum mothers knowledge about breast treatment, in room of post Partum in RSUD Datu Sanggul Rantau in 2012. (p=0,004), statically, there was a significant correlation between post partum mothers attitudes about breast treatment, with breastfeeding motivation in room of post partum in RSUD Datu Sanggul Rantau in 2012 (p=0,001). Suggestion: it expected that mother’s give their infants exclusively breast feeding for infants in the age of 0-6 month.
